Support & FAQ
Answers to the questions we hear most from
dairy producers and their teams.
01
General
Who we are and who we work with.
What is The Milk Team?
The Milk Team is a dairy coaching team. We help dairy farms improve their results through better processes, better training, and better data, combining hands-on, on-farm coaching with practical digital tools.
Who is The Milk Team for?
We work with dairy producers, milkers, and farm employees who want to improve herd health, milk quality, and operational efficiency.
Is training available in Spanish?
Yes. All of our training and coaching is bilingual (English and Spanish). We train in the language your crew is most comfortable with, so every instruction is clearly understood by producers and farm employees alike.
Who will visit my farm?
A member of The Milk Team with hands-on dairy management and training experience visits your operation in person.
02
Services & Training
What each service covers and how visits work.
What services does The Milk Team offer?
We offer four core on-farm services, along with comprehensive consulting to improve your herd’s productivity:
What does a Milking Routine Evaluation include?
A hands-on assessment of your current milking process — parlor flow, milker technique, equipment function, and cow prep — to identify what’s helping or hurting milk quality and udder health. You receive a report with findings and specific, actionable recommendations, and we can follow up with training for your milkers if needed.
What topics does Milkers Training cover?
Cow prep, unit attachment, milking sequence, hygiene, and safe, low-stress animal handling. It’s designed for any operation that wants to standardize milking technique across its team, from new hires to experienced milkers who need a refresher.
What does Calf Crew Training cover?
Colostrum management, feeding consistency, housing and hygiene, and how to spot early signs of illness. It’s meant for anyone responsible for calf care, and many farms notice improvements in calf health and consistency within the first few weeks of applying the new protocols.
What does a Dry Cow Management review include?
We review your dry-off procedures, housing conditions, nutrition for the dry and close-up periods, and udder health protocols. The dry period is when the udder renews tissue for the next lactation, so getting it right pays off at calving and beyond.
How long does a visit or training session take?
Most evaluations and on-site training sessions are completed in a single farm visit. Larger herds, bigger teams, or multiple shifts may need additional time.
How often should we repeat evaluations and training?
- Milking routine: we recommend a monthly evaluation to catch drift early.
- Milkers and calf crew: periodic refreshers, especially after onboarding new staff or when milk quality or calf health metrics start to slip.
- Dry cow management: at least once a year, or any time you see more fresh-cow health issues than usual.

Plans & Pricing
How to get started and what each plan includes.
How do I get started?
Start with our free Online Diagnosis: a short questionnaire that helps you identify, in minutes, the main opportunities for improvement on your farm — at no cost and with no commitment.
What’s the difference between the three plans?
- Online Diagnosis: a free first look at your farm’s improvement opportunities.
- Custom Diagnosis: adds an on-farm visit with a specialist and a report with findings and recommendations.
- Milk Team Program: ongoing training, monthly follow-up, interactive reports, and access to our digital tools.
See the full details on our Plans & Pricing page.
How much does it cost?
The Online Diagnosis is free. The Custom Diagnosis and the Milk Team Program are quoted based on the size and needs of your operation — contact us and we’ll send you a tailored proposal.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. Many clients start with the Online or Custom Diagnosis and move up to the full Milk Team Program as their needs grow.
04
Farm Reports & Tools
Accessing your reports and digital tools.
What is a Farm Report?
An interactive report with the findings and recommendations from your specialist’s visit — covering areas like milking routine, milker training, calf care, or dry cow management — along with trends from past visits. A new report is added after every visit. Learn more about Farm Reports.
How do I access my reports?
Log in to your farm’s report portal anytime from your phone or computer using the credentials provided by The Milk Team.
Can multiple people on my team view the reports?
Yes. We can set up access for the people on your team who need to see the reports and follow up on recommendations.
What digital tools do you offer?
Beyond on-farm coaching, we build practical tools that help you put training into daily practice: training videos, our protocols app, the Cowmunication platform, and interactive Farm Reports. Which tools you get depends on your plan. See our products.
